In 2012 I Pledge to...

...complete the challenges I've joined.

...read at least 10 books by LGBT authors or on LGBT themes.

...write more reviews. (I did pretty poorly in this in 2011 & ended up reviewing only a small portion of the books I read.)

...deepen my reading with filling in some gaps in my reading history i.e. READ MORE CLASSICS. (Is there something in the air or why have I read this same thing on a number of other book blogs, too?? ;))

...enjoy reading even more than I did in 2011. I want to find wonderful new to me authors & revisit some of my old favorites (Mrs Dalloway, anyone? ;)). I want to be swept away by great stories and beautiful writing. And I wish to share it all with you, the wonderful book blogging community!

Here's to a beautiful reading year!

I love hearing bloggers say they'll read more classics. :D

What wonderful ambitions!

There does seem to be a lot more reading of classics in the air. Maybe something to do with difficult times in the world and retreating into the past ...

Yes, I've noticed several other bloggers mentioning classics. Not me, though. I'll probably read one or two during the year but there are so many other books I want to read.

Good luck with your resolutions, Tiina!

Sounds like some good resolutions! :)

I read a good number of classics last year, and I'm hoping to continue that in this year!

Great choices. I've chosen not to do challenges this year.

Amanda, classics seem to be really in at the moment. :)

Thanks, fleurfisher! I haven't thought about that, but you might be right.

Thanks, Judith! I think my wish to to read more classics has developed during a long time. I really have some gaps in my reading.

Eva, I look forward to reading your posts on classics this year. I'll no doubt find there some new ones to put into my TBR list! :)

Cozy in Texas, my problem is usually to try to do too many challenges. This year I would really like to conclude all the challenges I've joined.

Greetings,
Tiina

Might I recommend Under the Poppy by Kathe Koja. I read it some time ago, yet I still find myself thinking about it often. It was bizarre, but beautiful.
